Expert craftsmanship, in every stitch

Welcome to Behind the Seams, the Williams Quality Covers blog. We share the craftsmanship, materials and technical detail behind every piece of custom marine canvas we build, so you understand not just what a good cover costs, but why it lasts. New guides are added through the season, timed to what your boat actually needs right then: spring prep, mid-summer UV care, fall haul-out, winter storage.

  • Premium materials. We exclusively use hand-selected Sunbrella® fabric for maximum UV resistance.
  • Precision stitching. Our detailed sewing process is built for long-term durability in harsh marine environments.
  • Custom fit. Every cover is measured and tailored to the specific lines of your boat.
What will I learn in Behind the Seams?

Practical, specific guidance: how to spot early UV and salt damage, when a repair makes more sense than a replacement, how to store canvas for winter, and what actually separates marine-grade materials from a big-box universal cover.

Who writes these guides?

Roger Williams and the team at Williams Quality Covers, based on what we actually see on boats in our Kirkland shop every week, not generic advice pulled from elsewhere.
