Materials

What goes into your replacement cover

When you order a factory-fit replacement, you get the exact premium-grade materials specified by the world’s leading boat builders. Through our partnership with Great Lakes Boat Top, your cover is crafted from the industry’s highest-standard marine textiles, built for sun, rain and rough marine environments.

Sunbrella®

The industry benchmark: 100% solution-dyed acrylic, fluorocarbon-coated for water repellency and breathable to resist mold. Backed by a 10-year limited fabric warranty.

Sunbrella® SeaMark

For heavy coastal rain or sea spray: classic Sunbrella with a durable waterproof backing for total weather blocking.

Sur Last® & Odyssey®

Engineered polyesters built for flexibility and tear resistance, with coatings that boost water resistance without harming your gel coat.

Stamoid™ Top

Used on biminis, sprayhoods and cockpit enclosures: lightweight, 100% UV-blocking, and resistant to dirt and salt.

Hardware & construction

A premium fabric is only as good as the engineering holding it together. Our factory replacements use original manufacturer-specified components to match your vessel’s existing setup.

  • 30-gauge Isinglass & Strataglass: optical-grade, heavy-duty vinyl for clear enclosure curtains and visors that resist clouding and scratching.
  • Marine-grade DOT® snaps & fasteners: matched to original factory placement and built to resist corrosion in saltwater.
  • Precision darting: sewn-in folds that create a tight, drum-like three-dimensional fit that sheds water without sagging.

Common questions

OEM replacement FAQ

What is an OEM factory-fit cover?

It’s a replacement cover, enclosure or bimini built from the boat manufacturer’s own digital pattern, so it matches your boat’s original factory specifications and existing hardware.

How do you know if my boat is supported?

Submit your boat’s make, model, year and Hull Identification Number (HIN) through the quote form. We check our database of over 60,000 digital patterns and follow up with availability and pricing.

What if my boat isn’t in the pattern database?

If a factory pattern isn’t available, we can design a fully custom-fit cover in our Kirkland shop instead. See our custom fabrication services, or if you’re outside the Seattle area, we can connect you with a fabricator in your region through our Boat Canvas University network.

Is completing the quote form the same as placing an order?

No. Completing the form only requests a pattern check and quote. Nothing is ordered or charged until you approve a detailed estimate.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?

Because every cover is custom-made to your boat’s factory specs, orders are non-refundable once production begins. We do offer repair or replacement for material defects or damage that arrives with the shipment.
